Dear
Faith Partners,
This
is Slocomb, just letting you know that we arrived safely at El Hogar
(albeit four hours late) and that all the newbies are already falling
in love. It took about five minutes on campus before kids showed to
give us our “Welcome!” and “Welcome back!” hugs. And it
still fascinates and humbles me that all these kids remember my name.
Thankfully they keep a photo roster of the children in the volunteer
house, so I can cheat and study their names before I see them again
tomorrow!
A
few photos of our trip here can be found below. Thank you for
following along with our trip, and thank you to the faith partners
for helping make this possible with your donations!

For
Sunday, July 27th: O God, whose fatherly care reaches to
the uttermost parts of the earth: We humbly beseech you
graciously to behold and bless those whom we love, now absent from
us. Defend them from all dangers of soul and body; and grant
that both they and we, drawing near to you, may be bound together by
your love in the communion of your Holy Spirit, and in the fellowship
of your saints; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
